Richard Osei Agjei (Ph.D.; MPH; MSc; PGCE; QTS; BSc)
Dr. Richard O. Agjei is a notable researcher and lecturer with a diverse academic background. He is currently affiliated with the Department of Health Administration and Education at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) in Ghana. Dr. Agjei holds a Ph.D. in Public Health and an MSc in Research Chemistry from the University of Eastern Finland2. His research interests span Exposure Assessment, Affect Detection, Suicidal Behaviors, Health Policy and Analysis, Machine Learning, and Data Science Applications in Public Health. He has also been involved in various multidisciplinary academic research and teaching partnerships across Finland, the USA, Germany, the UK, and Africa. Dr. Agjei is currently coordinating three ERASMUS+ funded projects: the Teprod Project, which focuses of capacity development in higher education using twin transition (circular economy, AI), the REVIVER project, which focuses on sustainable practices to enrich soil health, and the Green Gamings project, which uses gamification to motivate people to tackle climate change.
It is an honour to be the Patron and be associated with the Health Administration and Education Students’ Association (HAESA), a student body of the Department of Health Administration and Education (HAE), at the University of Education Winneba.
The Health Administration and Education Students’ Association aims to provide its members with more innovative activities and programs that will help them develop their professional capacities and give them a networking platform for engagement with the broader health sector.
Throughout the years, this illustrious Department & Association has given birth to cerebral giants and prodigies without parallel, who are today dispersed all over the world helping humanity and winning various awards for their efforts.
The Executives of the Association require your support and maximum participation in all events to help the association carry out its yearly programs and projects.
As your Patron, I am confident that this Association will continue to thrive, not only strengthening old bonds but also establishing new ones for all students – alumni/past, present, and future – through innovative academic and social contributions.

During my tenure, we focused on creating innovative programs and activities designed to enhance our professional skills and provide a robust networking platform. Our mission was clear: to equip each member with the tools necessary for success in the ever-evolving health sector.
I am incredibly proud of what we achieved together. HAESA has been a breeding ground for exceptional talent, producing individuals who are now making significant impacts in various corners of the world. Many of our alumni have gone on to receive prestigious awards, demonstrating the profound influence of our collective efforts.

Atta-Doku John Foster: 7th President of HAESA
As we continue to build a vibrant community within the Health Administration and Education Students’ Association (HAESA) at the University of Education Winneba, it is essential to highlight the remarkable leadership of our 7th President, Atta-Doku John Foster. His tenure has been marked by innovation, dedication, and a deep commitment to empowering students.
Atta-Doku John Foster stepped into the role of President with a vision to transform HAESA into a hub of professional development and collaboration. Under his leadership, the association has launched several initiatives aimed at enhancing the educational experience for all members. His focus on fostering a culture of inclusivity and support has made HAESA a welcoming space for students from diverse backgrounds.
During his presidency, Atta-Doku spearheaded numerous programs that have significantly impacted our community. Below are a few:
Creation and Launching of the HAESA Website: We established an online presence for HAESA, enhancing communication, and accessibility for all members.
Organizing Online IT Skills Training (Excel): In response to the digital age, we provided valuable IT training to equip our members with essential skills, starting with Excel.
Introduction of HAESA Branded Pen Drives: We introduced branded pen drives to foster a sense of identity and pride among our members.
Processed and Submitted Documents for the Creation of AHSAS-G: While awaiting approval, we initiated the process for the formation of AHSAS-G (pending approval from AHSAG).
Partnered with MAO Homecare and Outreach Services for Health Screening: Our commitment to community service extended to health screenings in collaboration with MAO Homecare and Outreach Services.
Health Talk with the School of Business: We organized a health talk session in collaboration with the School of Business to promote well-being.
Introduction of HAESA Research Club: To foster academic growth and research culture, we introduced the HAESA Research Club.
Introduction of HAESA Red Cross Society: We established the HAESA Red Cross Society, contributing to humanitarian efforts within our community.

Abraham Mensah Akrong is a results-driven leader and former President of the Health Administration and Education Students Association from the 2021-2022 academic year, he has a proven track record of innovation, teamwork, and community engagement. Successfully introduced technological advancements, fostered unity, and promoted educational growth.
