The Health Administration and Education Students’ Association (HAESA) of the University of Education, Winneba, has concluded its 2024 elections, ushering in a fresh team of leaders who will steer the association for the next academic year. The election results reflect the voice of the student body as they elect representatives to lead their interests and aspirations.
Presidential Portfolio
The presidential race saw a competitive contest between Moses Kwakye Junior and Baaba Alhassan Issifu. With 62.41% of the votes, Moses Kwakye Junior emerged victorious, securing 249 votes out of the 399 valid votes cast, making him the President-elect. His competitor, Baaba Alhassan Issifu, garnered 150 votes, representing 37.59% of the total, placing him in second position.
General Secretary Portfolio
For the position of General Secretary, Stephen Boadi won decisively, claiming 64.81% of the total votes with 256 ballots in his favor. Aziz Ibrahim, his opponent, received 139 votes, amounting to 35.19%, making Stephen Boadi the General Secretary-elect.
Financial Secretary Portfolio
The election for Financial Secretary saw a landslide victory for Nurudeen Shamsudeen, who received an overwhelming 93.01% of the votes (359 votes out of 386). The alternative option (NO) recorded only 6.99% of the votes with 27 ballots, positioning Nurudeen Shamsudeen as the Financial Secretary-elect.
Organizing Secretary Portfolio
The position of Organizing Secretary was keenly contested, with Joseph Koomson winning by a significant margin. He secured 94.88% of the votes (371 votes out of 391), while the alternative option (NO) registered just 5.12% with 20 votes. This positions Joseph Koomson as the Organizing Secretary-elect.
Treasurer Portfolio
Angela Kordze emerged as the Treasurer-elect, dominating her race with 96.94% of the total votes. She secured 380 votes out of 392, while the alternative option (NO) gathered 12 votes, representing 3.06% of the vote share.
Welfare Officer Portfolio
In the Welfare Officer portfolio, Linda Anim was elected with a solid majority, obtaining 93.67% of the votes (370 votes out of 395). The alternative option (NO) received 25 votes, making up 6.33% of the total.

As the newly elected officers prepare to assume their roles, they are faced with the responsibility of serving the HAESA community and ensuring that the voices of the students are heard and represented. The association looks forward to their leadership in promoting unity, democracy, and the welfare of students in health administration and education.
