We are thrilled to announce that the Wellness Day Health Walk, organized by the Health Administration and Education Students Association (HAESA) in collaboration with the University Clinic, was a resounding success. The event took place on the 4th of July 2024, and saw enthusiastic participation from HAESA members, university students, and the general public.
A Musical Journey
A vibrant brass band provided lively music throughout the walk, energizing participants and adding a festive atmosphere to the event. The rhythmic tunes kept everyone motivated as they embarked on the walk to promote health awareness.
The Route
The walk commenced at the Student Center in North Campus, proceeded along Windy Bay Avenue, and continued through Water Works Avenue. Participants then walked through the Zongo community, past the Central Campus, and in front of Winneba Municipal Hospital. The route then looped back onto Windy Bay Avenue and concluded at South Campus. This scenic route allowed us to engage with various parts of the university and the wider community.
Creating Awareness
The primary goal of the health walk was to raise awareness about HIV and to invite the general public and university community to the health screening and HIV testing event scheduled for the next day. Through this walk, we aimed to highlight the importance of regular health check-ups and HIV testing as vital steps towards maintaining good health and well-being.
Vote of Thanks
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all HAESA members for their active participation and support. A special thanks goes to the security personnel who ensured a safe and orderly event. We also appreciate the efforts of the university authorities and all individuals who contributed to the success of this health walk. Your dedication and cooperation were crucial in making this event memorable and impactful.
